Buffel Beats – Buffel Grass Removal

Buffel Beats runs on the second Saturday of every month and is a unique way to help care for Country while dancing, laughing, and enjoying upbeat music. We’re already seeing new native seedlings emerging in the buffel-free areas.

Wednesday 5th August 7pm – Simpson Desert Wildflower Presentation – Australian Plant Society

Join us as Traci Coates, a Desert Park Guide, takes us on a visual journey exploring the wildflowers she found on a camel track through the Simpson Desert.

6.30pm for a 7pm start, Wednesday 5th August in the Gallery at Olive Pink Botanic Garden.

Opening Night – Chromatic Encounters

An exhibition by Hayley Claire Lye, featuring 20+ coloured pencil illustrations, including many never before seen out of the studio. All Original Works for sale.

Free Event. Drinks & nibbles from 6pm onwards. The exhibition runs in the Gallery until Saturday 22^nd August, at Olive Pink Botanic Garden.

East of West Twilight Concert

This ARIA nominated trio begin their album launch tour in the Centre, with an opening set by Mparntwe’s very own world musicians King Marong and Pin Rada.

Australian Native Plant Society Conference

Over five days the conference will be your chance to hear about and see native plants and their habitats in central Australia. There will be three days of keynote talks, themed breakouts, two afternoon outings and two days of excursions into the MacDonnell Ranges and special places around Alice Springs. The conference is based at the Convention Centre with visits to Olive Pink Botanic Garden.
