Capture the Beauty of the Central Australian Desert: Enter the Olive Pink Botanic Garden Photo Competition (BACK for 2026!)
Everyone is welcome to celebrate and honour our unique environment by participating in the Photography Competition.
Don’t worry about your skill level, whether you’re using a camera or a phone. Just upload the photos that best showcase your unique experience of our beloved garden.
The competition is organised by month, with each month dedicated to a specific theme, which may include:
• Flora
• Fauna
• Landscapes
• People, festivals, events, and the café
• Macro and micro

You’ll be eligible for monthly prizes, and all entries will be submitted to the Annual Olive Pink Photography Awards (see details below).
Monthly Prizes
- First Prize:Â Best Photo of the Month!…1 x Peter Latz’s Book: “Tough Tasty & Tantalizing”
- Second Prize: Runner-up Photo of the Month!….1 x Pack of Olive Pink Cards
- Third Prize: Other great photos taken during the month… 1 x Package of Locally Sourced Central Australian Seeds.
- Occasional spot-prizes (e.g. coffee vouchers or other small gifts)… determined on ad hoc basis.
Annual Prizes
- First Prize: Most outstanding image in 2026… 1 x $200 Cash Prize + Award – Winner chosen at end of year.
- Second Prize: Runner up image of the year… 1 x $100 Cash Prize + Award – Winner chosen at end of year.
- Third Prize: A fantastic photo!… 1 x Gift Voucher $75 for OPBG Gift Shop – Winner chosen at end of year.
- People’s Choice Award: $200 cash – As voted by the public.

About Olive Pink Botanic Garden
The Olive Pink Botanic Garden is a peaceful, 16-hectare reserve located in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. Named after the pioneering anthropologist and artist Olive Pink, the garden showcases more than 600 central Australian plant species and serves as a haven for native wildlife. It’s a place of reflection, education, and conservation that highlights the resilience and beauty of the desert landscape.
