Rusty and the Infidels
Rusty and the Infidels hit you with Klezmer, the Jewish-Gypsy good-time party music, now a big hit at music festivals all over the world. And bring your dancing shoes.
Tek Tek Ensemble (VIC) Tek Tek Ensemble is a revitalised anthropological dance band consisting of guitars, trumpet, trombone, violins, percussion, double bass, piano accordion and the human voice. Tek Tek Ensemble creates hybridizations of most of the world’s music incorporating a startling variety of ethnographic and popular genres. Guthrie (VIC/TAS) Hailing from Van Diemen’s Land, Guthrie delivers honest and distinctive electric blues. Hot from a 60-date tour of the east coast of Australia, Guthrie bring their incendiary live performance to the 2012 Alice Desert Festival. These young southern men sing songs of love, murder, addiction, redemption, longing and loss. Two men, pounding drums, loud guitar played with a slide and a voice larger than life. Guthrie is dark and magnificent, this is the thinking man’s drinking music.
