This species is both drought and fire tolerant. It is widespread chiefly on stony or rocky hillsides, or stony alluvial soils in Central Australia.
Bushfood & Traditional Use: Witchetty grubs (larvae of a moth) found in the roots of this wattle are a tasty and favoured traditional food. The seeds are also an important bushfood. The Arrernte people used the inner bark from the roots to make string to tie splints on broken limbs.
